For Spalled and Scaled Concrete Surfaces and for Sealing
SURFACE PREPARATION
Step One
Remove all deteriorated concrete, dirt, asphalt, grease and any bond inhibiting material. Sweep or if necessary blow clean with an air compressor. Surface may be damp, but CAN NOT HAVE ANY STANDING WATER. A dry surface is recommended for best results.
MIXING PROCEDURE Step Two
NOTE: IT IS IMPORTANT TO MIX BOTH "A" AND "B" EPO-TOXY once a day before installation begins. Stir both containers with mixer and electric drill. A five gallon pail works well for a mixing container.
Pour equal amounts of EPO-TOXY "A" & "B" into mixing container, mix thoroughly to a uniform consistency. Add Color Pigment in small amounts while you continue to mix, until you obtain the desired color.. Continue to mix adding sand blasting sand at a ratio of 4x1 or 5x1 depending on the consistency. Refer to Silica sand aggregate specifications and mixing ratio examples.
For scaled surfaces or to seal a surface use same procedure as above only add sand at a ratio of two or three parts sand to one part thoroughly mixed A&B compounds. Mix to desired consistency.
APPLICATION Step Three
Distribute EPO-TOXY compound with a trowel. Spread material over entire repair area using firm pressure to insure maximum adhesion . Apply enough EPO-TOXY compound to bring area level with existing surface. Smooth entire repaired area with straight edge, Smooth with trowel and edger tool if desired.
NOTE: Set time of EPO-TOXY at 77°F, is three hours, In cold weather when it is necessary to speed up the set time Accelerator #100 is used.
16 oz. and 32oz plastic drinking cups work well for measuring EPO-TOXY in the mixing process. Plastic one or two gallon calibrated pails work well for measuring sand.
Xylene or any aromatic solvent is used to clean up tools. Tools may be cleaned up with water if EPO-TOXY is still wet after installation.
