Elasta Gel 6170 - Flexible Epoxy Expansion Joint Sealant
Elasta Gel 6170 Epoxy may be used as a filler for cracks, construction joints and expansion joints.
6170 Epoxy Resin is a two compontent (no VOC), low viscosity, flexible epoxy resin. This system has been specially formulated for use in cracks, construction joints and expansion joints requiring a flexible impact resistant polymer.
The material has adequate elongation to withstand thermal movements and physical properties to carry heavy wheel loading and impact.
6170 epoxy has a good chemical and water resistance.
ADVANTAGES
Elasta-Gel replaces the conventional wood presently used in expansion joints. It seals the joint and prevents surface water from damaging the sub-base.

SURFACE PREPARATION Step One
Remove all debris from expansion joint.
MIXING PROCEDURE Step Two
Stir or roll Elasta-Gel, both A and B, in their containers before starting mixing procedure. Resin and Hardener are manufactured with multiple viscosity products.
Pour measured two (2) parts Base "A" and one (1) Hardener "B" into mixing container. Proper measurement by volume must be adhered to completely.
Mix with slow speed drill and mixer. (Use a 5 gallon plastic pail for a mixing container.) Add pigment while mixing if desired.
APPLICATION Step Three
Fill expansion joint with backer rod or sand to ¾" of top. Pour mixed compound into expansion joint.
Note: It may be necessary to lay strips of masonite or similar material over joint if necessary to open to traffic before material cures.
